Baltimore's Oscar-Nominated Actress Monique Rockin' Her Fame and L.Renae's connection w/ Her!

I mentioned Zane being on the Monique Show the other night so I find it very fitting to give the Oscar-Nominated actress Monique her shine and to share my brush with her years ago.  Approximately 7-8 years ago, a friend of mine won tickets on the radio to see Monique at a comedy show in Laurel.  She won a limo ride, front seats and backstage access to meet her.  I was just really getting started in the acting game at that time. I was graduating college, had my career as an engineer lined up, and headed to move back to Baltimore.  When my friend told me she won the tickets, I was excited because at the time Monique had her own show in California called "The Parkers". So me and my ambitious self got my headshots and resumes all set so I could slip them to Monique when we met her backstage.  I didn't know what she was going to say or how she was going to respond, all I knew was I wasn't gonna let the opportunity pass me by!!  The day of the comedy show came, my girlfriends from high school and I got cute and was on our way! Of course Monique did her thing with the skinny bishes bit. lolol  Anyhoo, when it was time for us to go backstage...I introduced myself, told her about my aspirations, and all I heard was "I'm going to give your headshot to my casting director Monica Swann about possibly doing a walk-on spot for The Parkers".  My heart is beating and I'm thinking wow this really worked! So then Monique says "if she calls you, she will ask you to fly out to LA". I'm thinking sheeeeeiiiiitt, you ain't said nothin but a word Mo! I made my plane reservations and was out!   And by myself! My interview with Monica Swann was the next day.  We chatted about the opportunity and then the words of death came "you have to move out here now plus be in the union/work to get in the union". D@mn d@mn d@mn!! Being that I was fresh in the game, I didn't have my resume built up enough to be union and I wasn't mentally prepared to move out to LA alone. So I came back to Baltimore to build my resume up and then join the union, my plan was to keep in touch with Monica and when I got into the union to go back to LA...guess what happened? The network was not renewing the season. :-(  That's why I guide my talent in the right direction on a booking by booking basis.  I wouldn't of mind being on this show :-) :

I give Monique all the respect for packing up and leaving Baltimore to do her thing! I also thank her truly for the opportunity she gave me and she has my support everyday all day! If you haven't seen the Oscar-nominated actress yet in the movie 'Precious' then you need to go see it ASAP! This movie has so many talking points!! Go support Monique cause she's ROCKIN' HER FAME!!!

Knowles-Carter? Be is Rockin' Her Fame!!

Beyonce and Jay-Z are changing their surnames to Knowles-Carter to keep the family's name going. For a woman to get a man to change his last name is not easy at all, and many would say non-traditional.  For a man to take his woman's last name takes alot of heart and resides alot of love. Some men would say Jay lost cool points for that but nonetheless, HE DID IT! And Beyonce is Rockin' Her Fame for not only all of her success as an entertainer but JUST FOR THAT NAME CHANGE ALONE! YOU ROCK YOUR FAME GIRL!!!

BEYONCE Knowles and Jay-Z are planning to change their names.

"Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z - who married in April 2008 - are to take on both of their respective surnames in order to keep the Sweet Dreams singer's parental line from dying out.
Jay-Z – whose real name is Shawn Carter - will now be known as Shawn Knowles-Carter, while Beyonce is to become Beyonce Knowles-Carter.

A source revealed: “They want to keep Knowles because Beyonce’s parents didn’t have any sons and they’re keen to keep the name going strong, especially if they don’t produce any children themselves.”

Earlier this week, the Knowles family suffered a blow when it was announced that Beyonce’s parents Tina and Mathew would be divorcing after 29 years of marriage.

In October, rumours surfaced that Mathew may have been unfaithful, with a paternity suit filed by Alexandra Wright claiming he was the father of her unborn child – an allegation he has denied.

However, in a statement the estranged couple – who also have another daughter, Solange - claimed that the divorce would not be “an ugly, messy fight” and they would continue working together amicably." Source: OK!

Zane Rockin' Her Fame and L.Renae's connection with Zane!

Last night Zane was on The Monique Show doing what she does best with verbage of erotica! Tellin, teachin, explaining, expressing, and schooling those on things of sexuality!!  *Don't be scurred!* So I wanted to share my history with Zane.  When Zane first started writing, she wanted to remain anonymous.  Smart Woman.  She built up a fan base of erotica lovers that kept wanting more and more of her writing style.  She kept her fan base in suspense for a while.  Everyone wanted to know "who is Zane?".  She then opened up a bookstore called Zane's Endeavors in Fells Point and had her manager Mr. Dante Feenix run it, who at the time was also my manager.  That's my homey!! So with the opening of the store, Zane needed promotional fliers done for the store and for her poetry nights in which I hosted. :-) So who got chosen to be the sexy poster child for a portion of Zane's empire, yep yours truly!!! ;-)

Meet Zane and find out how she's Rockin' Her Fame!!

Celebrity Talent Signs w/ L. Renae Talent Management

L. Renae Talent Management has signed celebrity talent Tray Chaney who you may know best as "Poot" from the hit series "The Wire" which was filmed right here in Baltimore, MD!!!

On "The Wire", Malik "Poot" Carr played a  "low-level Barksdale dealer and sidekick to Bodie Broadus, Poot is, as they say, for the ladies. Frequently derided for his constant pursuit of corner girls, Poot is just as frequently a visitor to the University Hospital clinic for sexual transmitted diseases. Growing up in the towers and finding work selling heroin and cocaine in the low-rises alongside Bodie and Wallace, Poot was hesitant when word came down from Stringer to execute Wallace to prevent him from becoming a witness against the organization. Bodie took the lead in that murder, but, after wounding their friend and then hesitating, Bodie had the gun grabbed from his hand by Poot, who finished the killing - more an act of compassion for the dying Wallace, than a cold-blooded slaying. Caught on the wiretaps in the second Barksdale probe, Poot is doing a short bit in Jessup on his first serious adult charge." I loved that show! So much realism, action, and suspense! How We Got On The Show (Whose Wedding Is It Anyway)

The question at hand is "how did you guys get on the show?". Come on now, its what I do! lol No, seriously. As you know, I am a Talent Manager/Agent and I'm always viewing castings and I came across the casting in early March for the Style Network for the show "Whose Wedding Is It Anyway" looking for a lucky couple to celebrate their 100th episode by receiving an extraordinary wedding anywhere in the world! The casting director contacted me and asked me to fill out a questionnaire. I was told if my fiance and I made it past the questionnaire then we would be asked to submit an audition tape, well we were asked! So we put our all into making our audition tape creative while sticking to the requirements for the submission! The waiting process was grueling! :-) We found out that we were one of 12 lucky couples of all the people who submitted around the United States! If selected, we would have an extraordinary wedding anywhere in the world and they would pay for 6 additional people to come along. We chose the beautiful land of Africa as our place of choice! It came down to crunch time, and we found out that we were not selected. :-( It was disappointing because we thought we put a lot of effort into our audition tape. We then continued with our wedding planning, disagreeing with the budget and things of that nature. lol So out of the blue, at the end of March/early April, I get an email from the same casting director I applied for the 100th episode of Whose Wedding Is It Anyway, asking about my fiance (at the time) and I being on Season 10 of the show!! I was so excited but didn't want to get too excited since we had to do another interview process. This time it was on the phone with her but still on camera and not my fiance (at the time) and I interviewing each other like the last time. I told her about us being disappointed about not getting the other show (lol, I don't care, she needed to know! lol) since we put a lot of effort into our tape and asked her how big of a chance do we have this time because we just didn't want to be let down again. She said our chances were great this time! So after our on camera interview, the producers and network remembered us from the other submission and they loved us then as well but at the time, all of our ducks weren't in order to do that show (all of my immediate family members didn't have their passports renewed, etc) so they booked us for this show!!! They told us that this will be a one hour long show as well! Just like the 100th episode. She said this season they will be doing six 1 hr. shows of just one couple, instead of the normal 2 couples in one hour and then all the other episodes will be 2 couples in one hour. We were ecstatic!! We filmed the show for a week and they paid for OUR ENTIRE WEDDING!!!! And my wedding dress!!! This worked out better than the 100th episode for the following reasons: 1) They made the 100th episode to be 100 hours to wed and that would have been too overwhelming for us. 2)They only paid for 6 other family members to go anywhere in the world to attend the wedding (which is still a blessing but everyone there is even more of a blessing). 3) With such short notice, not very many of our family and friends would have been able to attend the wedding in Africa. God worked it out so that 1) We had a little more time (though it was still short-less than a month, yikes!), and most importantly 2) it was local so all of our family and friends could witness our union! Not to mention, EVERYTHING WAS PAID FOR!! It was a dream come true! Our wedding was soooooooo beautiful, and so filled with warm spirits and love!!! Not to mention we can watch our experience over and over again on the Style Network.

God had a bigger and better plan in store for us when we didn't get chosen for the 100th episode. He wanted all of our family and friends to witness our day and see our growth as a couple who met at college. He didn't just want very few people to witness our union. God had a bigger and better plan for me when I lost that competition on the Tyra Banks show for that $12K wedding dress. He knew that wasn't my dream dress and he blessed me to receive the dress I wanted to marry my husband in and he told me not to worry about the cash I could have won if I sold that dress because he had it set for me to have my whole entire wedding and my dream dress all PAID FOR.

So all in all, that's how we got on the show and this proves that you should never give up, give your all, and remember that you never know who remembers you for your efforts.

So that answers your question about how we got on the show and now you may want to know how can YOU get on a show of your choice...well, L. Renae Talent Management can show you what it takes and how to get there. I don't play no games! ;-)
